Above Ground Pools With Decks

So when it comes to swimming pools in your backyard, there is a lot to know. There are so many different types, shapes, sizes, and brands. What you need to know is every pool is going to be specific for it's location. Things to consider are:
  • Size of your backyard
  • How often it will be used
  • How many people will be using it
  • The age of people who will be swimming

Knowing these things will help you make a good decision on your purchase. If you are looking for a good above ground swimming pool, you are going want to check out our page on the best above ground pools. One of my favorite types of pools are above ground pools with decks. These are very stylish and so convenient to have. Sure they take a little more time to setup and build, but they are the best looking out there! You make makes steps up to the pool, put it under a roof so you have shade, or even make the deck wide and have a little kitchen up there for barbecues. Here are some different types of above ground pools with decks along with the pros and cons to each.

Above Ground

Pros:
  • If your pool has a raised deck, this could possibly take out the need for excavation
  • Your walls on the side will actually keep debris and other things from blowing in. This will keep your pool cleaner.
  • It is good protection from dogs or small children that should not be using the pool
Cons:
  • Some planning is going to be required because concrete may need to be poured before hand.
  • You may have to build or purchase stairs to enter the pool.
  • These tend to be more expensive.

Partially In Ground

Pros:
  • Very easy to get to. You can even sit down right on the wall and put your feet in the water.
  • Stylish and makes cleaning easy
  • The walls keep from dirt and other things blowing in
Cons:
  • Again this could require some planning as concrete is most likely going to need to be poured
  • Dogs or small children have easier access to the pool. This may be unwanted.

In Ground

Pros:
  • This will have the easiest access since you can just walk right in.
  • Usually easy to clean since it is not hard to get to all areas of the pool.
  • Can be less expensive than other styles.
Cons:
  • Since this has the easiest pool access, you are going to want to consider the depth of your pool since pets and children will have access.
  • More injuries are caused because of slippery decks.
